Mystery of the Second Exodus Revealed in the Waldensian Bible! (Letter of Jude)

Arie Kralt
Greater Exodus

As the Benai Emunah Translation Team is working on the Hebrew manuscripts of the New Testament, I’m currently working on one of the Waldensian manuscripts; Manuskript Nr 8 bibliotheque d’ Municipale d’Carpentras. While transcribing and translate the manuscript, I found a hidden gem in the letter of Jude! Explicitly, the Mystery of the Second Exodus Revealed in the Waldensian Bible! (Letter of Jude) reveals hidden mysteries of the end of days head!

Figure 1&2: Verse 5 from the Waldensian mss from Manuskript Nr.8, bibliotheque d’municipale d’Carpentras

Saved From Egypt

Furthermore, this verse, verse 5, reads as follows:

"Mas yo volh amonestar vos, sabent totas cosas car Yhesu salvant lo poble de la terra d'Agipt per una via, la segonda via destruis aquilh li cal non creseron,"

And in English, it reads:

"Still I want to remind you, though you knowed all these things, likewise Yeshua[1] have saved the people from the land of Mitzraim(Egypt) the first time, the second time he will destroy those who do not believe."

Greek vs Hebrew

However, lets compare it to to Literal Greek translation into English and a English translation:

"To-under-remind yet ye I-am-intending ones-being-aware ye once this that the Lord, people out of-land of-egypt saving the second, the-ones no believing destroys." Literal Greek
"But I intend to remind you, though you once knew this, that יהוה, having saved a people out of the land of Mitsrayim, afterward destroyed those who did not believe." TS-2009

Therefore, if you read carefully, you will see that in the Greek it is also talking about a second(time), but it is not clear what is meant by this word. All of the common translations, will translate this phrase as afterwards, focusing on the Exodus from the past, in the time of Moses.

The Second Time…

But here is a huge difference: in the Occitan Waldensian manuscript: it is talking about the second time, and we have a clue from the Prophets, to understand the meaning of the writing of Jude. Also, lets read from Isaiah 11:11-16

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that Yehovah shall set his hand again the second time(שֵׁנִית) to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He will lift up a standard for the nations and assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and those who harass Judah will be cut off; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, and Judah will not be jealous of Ephraim. They will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines on the west; together they will plunder the sons of the east; They will possess Edom and Moab, and the sons of Ammon will be subject to them. And Yehovah will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt; and He will wave His hand over the River with His scorching wind; and He will strike it into seven streams and make men walk over dry-shod. And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant of His people who will be left, just as there was for Israel in the day that they came up out of the land of Egypt."

We found the same phrase, (שֵׁנִית ,sheni(t), the second time) in Shepreve 16. A. II , (שֵׁנִית) and in the Cambridge Gaster 1616 and Cochin Oo.16.2 manuscripts, שֵׁנִי [2])

The Future Exodus

What does this explosive finding mean? This is a proof that, the early followers of Yeshua Messiah, and the Waldensians, had knowledge about a future second Exodus, led by Yeshua the Messiah, bringing back all of the dispersed people of Israel. This is a theme, that is rarely been taught under our fellow believers, but it is obvious when you read and understand the Prophets in a literal sense, this will happen when Yeshua returns!

Additionally, I recommend you read the following sources on the subject of the Second Exodus:

[1]  In the Greek we have different readings, and we found this in the Waldensian and Hebrew manuscripts too. But in the unpublished manuscript  Oo.1.32 we read: He(this one), and this a example of explicit subject gapping. That is why there are so many different readings, because the translators interpreted the ‘HE’, and for this reason it is likeable that the original reading is preserved in the Hebrew manuscript Oo.1.32(unpublished)

[2] Quotations of the verses are taken from the Benai Emunah Team translation of the Cambridge Gaster 1616 and Cochin Oo.16.2 manuscripts, collectively referred to as the Cochin manuscript, currently unpublished.
