The Spirits Of Yehovah: The Evil Spirits is part IV of a four-part series, “The Spirits of Yehovah.” In part I Yeshua Is Coming Sooner Than You Think! I explain that Yeshua is continually coming through the Spirit of Yehovah and is sent into all the earth (Revelation 5:6). Also, in part II The Spirits of Yehovah: Are They The Same? I identify and compare The Holy Spirit with the Spirit of Yehovah, and the miraculous gifts He gives (Isaiah 11:1-5, 28:6). In part III The Spirits Of Yehovah: The Holy Spirit I explain who The Holy Spirit is and the goal of the pouring out of The Holy Spirit upon the earth.
To begin, we must understand that Yehovah not only sends His Spirits to help us in times of need, but also sends evil spirits as well. In fact, Yehovah says that He is the source of both good and evil (Isaiah 45:7). I know that this is difficult for some to believe, but He gave clear examples in Scripture. Yehovah not only sends evil spirits for correction, He also sends evil spirits to test our faith!1
Lying Spirits
First, notice that at the end of Ahab’s reign (king of Israel), Ahab decides to war against the Syrians (Arameans) at Ramoth-Gilead. He asks Jehoshaphat (king of Judah) to join him in battle. Jehoshaphat seeks to inquire the counsel of Yehovah beforehand, so Ahab gathers his 400 personal prophets. All of Ahab’s prophets encourage him to proceed with war, claiming that Yehovah would give over his adversaries to him (1 Kings 22:6). However, for validation, Jehoshaphat requests a prophet not among Ahab’s 400 personal prophets. A messenger is sent to bring Michaiah before the two kings.
But Michaiah was hated by Ahab, since Michaiah spoke the words of Yehovah, which to Ahab seemed never to be good. When Micaiah prophesies before the two kings, he reveals what Yehovah had shown him:
And a spirit came forward and stood before Yehovah, and said, "Let me entice him." And Yehovah said to him, "In what way?" And he said, "I shall go out and be a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets." And He said, "Entice him, and also prevail. Go out and do so." "And now, see, Yehovah has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and Yehovah has spoken evil concerning you," 1 Kings 22:21-23 (emphasis mine).
Consider this dream I had on 3/29/22. I dreamt I saw military men, whom I knew to be the enemy of Yehovah. A young soldier came running breathlessly into the command center, telling the commander he had something from Yehovah to report. The general, irritated with the news, barked at the young soldier, “What is it now? What is Yehovah sending?”
The young soldier replied, “Jesus Christ!” (the false messiah).
Someone not understanding Scripture may choose to presume that this was a false prophetic dream. Perhaps they would declare, “There is no way God would send something evil!” Yet in 1 Kings 22:21-23, as shown above, we have the example of Yehovah sending something evil to false prophets!
Spirit To Test Faith
Second, Yeshua warned that there would be false messiahs and false prophets coming:
"For false messiahs and false prophets shall arise, and they shall show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. See, I have forewarned you. So if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or, ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of Adam be," Matthew 24:24-27.
Who will send these false prophets and false messiahs? Yehovah will send them. He is the Tester of our faith!
Consider Job 1:7-12, when Yehovah sent Satan to test Job’s faith. In fact, in Matthew 4, Satan was sent to test Yeshua himself!
"My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the proving of your belief works endurance. And let endurance have a perfect work, so that you be perfect and complete, lacking in naught," James 1:2-4.
Also consider 1 Peter 1:7, which states that the testing of our faith brings something more precious than gold:
" ...in order that the proving of your belief – much more precious than gold that perishes, and proven by fire – might be found to result in praise and respect and esteem at the revelation of Yeshua Messiah," 1 Peter 1:7.
Spirit Sent For Disobedience
Third, at 1 Samuel 16:14 we read that Yehovah sent an evil spirit to torment Saul. This is also mentioned in 1 Samuel 16:15–16, 23; 18:10, and 19:9.
And the Spirit of Yehovah turned aside from Saul, and an evil spirit from Yehovah troubled him. And the servants of Saul said to him, “Look, now, an evil spirit from Elohim is troubling you. Please, let our master command your servants who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skilled player on the lyre. And it shall be that when the evil spirit from Elohim is upon you, that he shall play with his hand, and you be well." And Saul said to his servants, “Please get me a man that plays well, and bring him to me.” And one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Yishai the Beth-lehemite, who knows how to play, a brave one, and a man of battle, and skilled in words, and a handsome man. And Yehovah is with him,” 1 Samuel 16:14-18.
The evil spirit was sent to Saul as part of Yehovah’s judgment against Saul’s disobedience. Saul disobeyed Yehovah on two occasions (1 Samuel 13:1–14, 15:1–35). Therefore, Yehovah removed Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit) from Saul and sent an evil spirit. This spirit was sent to torment him, so that King Saul would repent of, and then correct, his disobedience.
The Fiery Serpents
Also consider Numbers 21, when the children of Israel complained about the manna. Yehovah heard their complaining and sent fiery serpents to bite the people. Many became sick, and died:
And the people spoke against Elohim (God) and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this despicable bread.” So Yehovah sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died, Numbers 21:5-6.
The fiery serpents were a judgment upon the children of Israel for their constant complaining and grumbling. In our day we see a world of complainers, both believers and unbelievers. Is a comfortable, prosperous lifestyle never enough, such that complaining and grumblings endure?
Consider that in 2020 a fear campaign occurred around the world. Viruses containing spike proteins were loosed, and the world was coerced into taking untested, potentially deadly mRNA injections. The contents in these injections compel one’s body to create its own spike proteins. Well known and credible physicians warned the world, but the physicians were silenced and threatened. In fact, today there are trusted physicians who continue their warnings, while recommending the Covid-19 vaccine program be shut down, due to the vaccine’s many failures.
There are several reasons I consider the Covid pandemic and injections similar to Yehovah’s sending the fiery serpents in Numbers 21. First, The New York Times reported that getting Covid-19 is similar to getting bitten by a rattlesnake.2 Also, I find discussions relating snake venom to the Covid-19 injections especially alarming.3 These examples suggest to me similarity between the bite of the fiery serpent and Yehovah’s correcting a wayward people!
There are even more intriguing mysteries hidden in recently researched Hebrew manuscripts that I will soon be writing about. I also will reveal the answer to the question, What brings about healing?
New Testament Examples
Next, there are examples of people in the B’rit Chadashah (New Testament) writings who were turned over to Satan for punishment. One such was Yehovah’s allowing Ananias and Sapphira to be filled with a lie from Satan:
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Set-apart Spirit and keep back from the price of the land for yourself?” Acts 5:3 (emphasis mine).
Consider Peter, who in Acts 5:3 said that Ananias lied to Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit), but in Acts 5:9 said that Sapphira lied to the Ruach Yehovah (Spirit of Yehovah)! In my blog, Who Has The Keys To Bind And Loose? I explain that only Peter had the keys to bind and loose. So, the inference at Acts 5:9 can only be that Peter had been gifted a Ruach (Spirit) of Yehovah, thus giving him authority to make the right-rulings set forth in Torah. For this reason, when the Spirit of Yehovah confronted the lying spirit of Satan in Acts 5:9, the result was the death of Sapphira. Why? – because Yehovah is Holy, Holy, Holy, and no evil can dwell in His presence!
So Peter said to her, “Why have you agreed to try the Spirit of Yehovah? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they shall carry you out,” Acts 5:9 (emphasis mine).
Destroy Sinful Nature – Save A Soul
Another example of an evil spirit sent by Yehovah occurred when a man in the Corinthian Assembly committed incest and adultery. Yehovah commanded the leaders to “hand him over to Satan” to destroy his sinful nature, that his soul might be saved (1 Corinthians 5:1–5).
How interesting, that many Christians pray for friends and family to have comfortable lives. Yet, in Scripture, we see that Yehovah is more concerned with our souls being saved than with our personal comfort! (see Matthew 10:38, 16:24-25)
In fact, in 1 Timothy 1:20, so as to teach them a most valuable lesson, we see Hymenaeus and Alexander delivered over to Satan:
“Among these are Hymenæus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan, in order to be taught not to blaspheme,” 1 Timothy 1:20.
Spirit To Destroy Flesh
Fourth, we find in 1 Corinthians that Paul is very unhappy with the behaviors of some in that assembly in Corinth. In fact, he proclaims that with the power of Yeshua Messiah we are to deliver such people over to Satan, for the purpose of destroying the desires of the flesh:
“It is commonly reported that there is whoring among you, and such whoring as is not even named among the nations, so as one to have his father’s wife! And you have been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, so that he who has done this deed, be removed from among you! For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged the one who did this, as though I were present. In the Name of our Master Yeshua Messiah, when you are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Master Yeshua Messiah, deliver such a one to Satan for destruction of the flesh, in order that his spirit be saved in the day of the Master Yeshua," 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 (emphasis mine).
Also, in 2 Corinthians 12:7, Yehovah allowed a messenger of Satan to torment the apostle Paul himself, in order to teach him to have reliance solely on Yehovah’s grace.
Lastly, Yehovah allows those who have degrading passions to be given over to a worthless mind:
“Because of this Elohim gave them over to degrading passions. For even their women exchanged natural relations for what is against nature, and likewise, the men also, having left natural relations with woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing indecency, and receiving back the reward which was due for their straying. And even as they did not think it worthwhile to possess the knowledge of Elohim, Elohim gave them over to a worthless mind, to do what is improper, having been filled with all unrighteousness, whoring, wickedness, greed, evil; filled with envy, murder, fighting, deceit, evil habits; whisperers, slanderers, haters of Elohim, insolent, proud, boasters, devisers of evils, disobedient to parents, without discernment, covenant breakers, unloving, unforgiving, ruthless; who, though they know the righteousness of Elohim, that those who practise such deserve death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practise them,” Romans 1:26-32 (emphasis mine).
Is this not the clarion call of today’s world order? (see Ephesians 2:2-3) Men, women – even children, are ever-turning to degrading passions! While Yehovah gives them over to the worthless mind they crave, we, my brothers and sisters, must instead strive to have the “mind of Messiah” (1 Corinthians 2:16). In my blog Gender Mismatch Equals Gender Confusion, I describe my findings in the Cambridge manuscript4 that speak to gender confusion during the end times. These details are discovered in translations from Hebrew manuscripts of The Revelation of Yeshua Messiah. Yehovah revealed the mystery in the Hebrew Book of The Revelation!
Walk By Faith, Not By Sight
To summarize: The Spirits Of Yehovah: The Evil Spirits reveals that evil spirits are sent by Yehovah. Some may say that Yehovah would never do such a thing. But Scripture is very clear! Yehovah is the source of good and evil (Isaiah 45:7), and He uses evil spirits to bring correction, direction, and destruction to the desires of the flesh. This is part of the refining process Yehovah uses to fashion us into something better and more precious than gold!
Therefore, if Satan can go before Yehovah and accuse you (Job 1:6-22, Zechariah 3:1, Revelation 12:10), how much greater that you can go before Yehovah and petition Him?! For you are sons of God (Elohim) and because of your redemption through Yeshua, you are able to come before Yehovah as adopted heirs and are able to call Yehovah “Abba” (Father)! (see Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6)
Not only that, but we have His promise that He hears and answers our prayers! So, I challenge you to call upon the name of Yehovah, for there is deliverance! (see Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13)

There is a way we can be restored from an evil, lying spirit from Yehovah – a love of the truth. 2 Thess 2:10 – 12. “with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved, and for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that the should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe in the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
Psalm 119:29 “Remove me from the way of falsehood, and favor me with your Torah.”
Well done, Janice!
Exactly! And, we must LOVE truth! Those are great reminders for those who desire truth.
Thank you, Matthew!
