You Shall Never Hunger Nor Shall Never Thirst

Benai Emunah Institute
Yeshua is the covenant meal

Yeshua made it clear to his disciples in John 6:35a that his followers shall never hunger nor shall never thirst. Yet today, people struggle believing this word is for them. Food is being destroyed. Farms are being destroyed. Food prices are escalating. Fuel costs are rising, and we need a miracle. But did you realize there is a miracle waiting on you? It’s true. The miracle is ready and available but was blinded to the disciples during the time Yeshua walked the earth.

First Comes Deliverance And Healing

Consider John 6:2,5 when the 5,000 men sought after Yeshua because he performed miracles.

והלכו אחריו הרבה אנשים כראותם האותות שעשה עם החולים
“And many people followed him when they saw the signs he did with the sick”.1 John 6:2

Before Yeshua fed the 5,000 men and their families, he cast out demons and healed the sick. The people saw miracles in themselves, their friends, families, and neighbors; and they wanted more. Therefore, the deliverance and healing had to occur first in order to drive the lost to Yeshua to seek more.

12 Baskets For 12 Tribes

Thus, in John 6:9-13, Yeshua received the loaves and fishes from the boy and multiplied and divided them among the people. Everyone had their fill of both fishes and loaves. But, in verse 13, there were 12 baskets of loaves remaining. There were not 12 baskets of loaves and fishes. Scripture clearly states there were 12 baskets of broken barley loaves remaining.

“And when they were satisfied, he said to his talmudim, “Take these pieces and we will not lose anything of them. And they took the pieces and filled twelve baskets full of the five barley loaves.”1 John 6:12-13

Note: Some Greek manuscripts say, “five broken barley loaves.”

Fishes And Loaves

The symbolism seems clear. The fishes represent the people as it did with the 153 fishes in John 21:11. And the disciples are “fishers of men” as stated in Matthew 4:19. Also, the twelve broken barley loaves represent Yeshua’s body that was broken for us.

"and having given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat, this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24 Emphasis mine.

Yeshua’s Body Multiplied And Broken

Yeshua's broken body given for us.

For this reason, the remaining 12 baskets of broken barley loaves represents Yeshua’s broken body, the living manna, who gave his life for all (1 John 2:2). And, once we accept the redemption of Yeshua, we are adopted into the family of our Elohim and are heirs according to the promise (Romans 8:17). Then we become part of the Tribes of Israel who eventually go through one of the twelve gates of the renewed Jerusalem (Revelation 21:21). Therefore, the 12 baskets of the broken barley loaves (i.e., Yeshua, the true manna from heaven) is given to the 12 tribes of Israel.

You Ate Bread And Were Satisfied

Consider John 6:26, on the following day when the 5,000 men and their families returned seeking more. Yeshua knowing what they were seeking, told them why they were seeking him.

ענא ישו ואמר להם אמת ניצב אומר אני לכם הוא שמה שאתם *מבקשים אותי לא בשביל שראיתם אותות אילה בשביל שאכלתם לחם לשובע
“Yeshua answered and said them, “Truth I say to you that what you seek* of me is not because you saw signs of power, but because you ate bread to fullness.”1 John 6:26

Note: *can also mean “ask”

אני אני לחם של חיים
“I, I am the bread of life.” 1 John 6:48

Note: Repeating a pronoun twice is a typical Hebrew method to add emphasis.2

In John 6:26, Yeshua confirms the bread they ate the day before was unique and satisfying. That unique bread, of course, was Yeshua’s body, the bread of life.

Yeshua Is The Bread From Heaven

This is where it gets exciting. In John 6:35, Yeshua gave a secret message. He explained exactly how to partake of his flesh and blood.

ענא ישו ואמר להם אמת ניצב אומר אני לכם הוא שמה שאתם *מבקשים אותי לא בשביל שראיתם אותות אילה בשביל שאכלתם לחם לשובע׃
“Yeshua said to them, I am the bread of life; whoever seeks* me does not hunger and whoever believes in me, never thirsts.”1 John 6:35 Emphasis mine.

Note: *can also mean “ask”. Greek manuscripts say, “…whoever comes to me…”.

Come To Me – Believe In Me

Cone to Me, Believe in Me, Yeshua said.

Did you catch the message in John 6:35? Yeshua said, “Whoever seeks me…” shall not hunger. How do we come seeking Yeshua? We come in prayer, praise, worship, and studying of his word. Keep in mind, Yeshua and the Father are one (John 10:30) and Yeshua gave instruction how to pray directly to the Father (Matthew 6:9-13). Also keep in mind, the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) is not a third person of Yehovah but is Yehovah.3 Therefore, we are going through Yeshua, the door (John 10:7) leading directly to the Father, who is Yehovah.

Yeshua also said, “whoever believes in me, never thirsts”. By believing Yeshua is the Son of Yehovah who gave his broken body for all as a redemption for our sins (1 John 3:16), we partake of Yeshua’s blood. Therefore, when we partake of Yeshua’s flesh and blood, we will receive eternal life in him.

למה באמת אומר אני לכם שכל מי שמאמין בי יש לו חיים לעולם
“Why indeed, I say to you, “Everyone who believes in me has eternal life.”1 John 6:47

Truly Bread and Truly Drink

My flesh is truly food and my blood is truly drink
My flesh is truly food, and my blood is truly drink.

Furthermore, the manna that came from heaven during the time of the Exodus didn’t result in everlasting life nor fulfillment for the children of Israel (John 6:49, 58). In fact, Yeshua made it clear the manna and drink Yeshua offers will be satisfying and result in everlasting life (John 6:54). He also reiterated that his flesh and blood are truly food and drink.

לפי שגופי באמת מאכל ודמי באמת הוא שתייה
“Indeed, my body is truly food, and my blood is truly drink.”1 John 6:55

Yeshua The Covenant Meal

In conclusion, the gathering of the people in Matthew 6 begins first with healing and deliverance. Then, once healing and deliverance began, the people sought more. Thus, these events led to the people partaking of the broken bread of Yeshua and were satisfied. After the 5,000 were satisfied, they sought for manna from heaven; that is when Yeshua proclaimed to be the living manna from heaven. It is also important to realize, the message of partaking of Yeshua was not clear to Yeshua’s followers, but it is clear to us.

Manna For Future Generation

Therefore, it is my belief the 12 baskets of broken bread were saved for this generation who desires to partake of Yeshua. Additionally, when you partake of Yeshua’s flesh and blood, you shall never hunger nor shall never thirst again. In fact, you will be fulfilled and live eternally in him. So, how do you partake of Yeshua’s flesh and blood which he says is true food and drink? By seeking him and believing he is the Son of Yehovah who gave his life for us.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this makes me believe these same events in this same order will occur before the children of Israel partake of the true living manna from heaven (i.e., Yeshua). First there will be miraculous healing and deliverance. Then, there will be miraculous multiplying of bread. These combined events will build strong faith (in Hebrew it is called emunah) resulting in believers partaking of the true living manna from heaven. This is my theory, of course. But it is my belief we are on the verge of a great move of our Elohim.
